i didn't get a chance to go with the BT kids to see them all play. but i did have the good fortune of coming across a pair of pianos with my little brother down in soho last friday. a man was playing one and my brother accompanied him on the other. they then each played some of their own songs. it was a sweet exchange between strangers.

many of the songs he played at bb king's tonight were love songs. it wasn't until half way through the second one that it occurred to me who he was singing about; that indeed every love song is inspired by an actual person/relationship; that his inspiration was sitting there listening to her husband of 20+ years. it was at that moment that i guess i became a fan. i also liked learning that he was a friend of george harrison's.
