sometimes it's good to take a break -
apart from relaxing and recouping, it also helps gain perspective
when i started this blog my hope was that it would focus my attention on making connections to the things around me (which i think is what art is all about: connection - at least the kind of art that i am interested in...)
indeed, chordstriking has provided a place for expression, and in doing so, a place for discovery; what my relationship is to the world around me.
this vacation has been a break from that external world. i have spent the past two weeks very much in an insular state. in part because i have been sick (i become a pretty big baby when i'm sick, focusing mostly on myself) but also because i was tucked away in a house in the middle of nowhere-ish with most of the people i love in my life. so rather than searching for things to connect with, i just enjoyed the connections i already have.
odd that it's harder to write about those much more intimate connections. but then again, i think the most precious things are hardest to share.

nice, but also precise, words camulita.
I have to admit that I envy the fact of being encapsulated with mu loved ones for a whole week.
