"all the words were stuck in my head like salt in a caked shaker"

oftentimes when i am talking, i cannot recall a word that i want to use. not a long or complicated word, but a generic and simple word. its really frustrating, and makes me feel a little like an idiot. or just old. not old like 30, old like 83.

i read this quote in a book the other day and it resonated.

how about my new problem? i say the wrong word all the time but it is in a similar category or start with the same letter. fucked up brain. i said "onesie instead of icie" for example "subway instead of sidewalk". baby brain or brain damage? to think that i had a way with words...
