being thankful

yesterday was thanksgiving
a day that i love, not only for the gathering of people, the excuse to eat too much food, and for all the familiar traditions (watching the parade on tv, going out to see a movie after dinner, fitting too many people into a small apt etc) but also because i love the idea (however falsely rooted in the holiday's origins) of dedicating a day to being thankful

i am thankful for many things. every year more than the last.
